Land clearing and forestry mulching
Reliable Demolition Services & Dumpsters clears land across Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte and Hillsborough counties. Overgrown lots, pasture gone to scrub, acreage you cannot walk through — we clear it and leave the ground ready for whatever comes next. Licensed, insured, and we handle the permitting before anyone starts cutting.
Every land clearing job starts with a site visit. Density is the whole job, and it cannot be read off a photograph.
What land clearing covers
Forestry Mulching
Trees and brush ground down where they stand and left as a mulch layer. Nothing to truck away, and the material holds the soil as it breaks down.
Clear and Haul Off
When the ground needs to be bare for a survey, a slab or a sale, we haul the material off instead of mulching it in place.
Trees and Brush of Any Size
Brush, scrub, palmetto and trees. Large trees that come down in sections are part of the same job, the same quote and the same invoice.
Stumps Handled in Scope
Mulched below grade with the majority of the stump left in the ground, ground out deeper, or removed entirely with the root ball. Part of the clearing, not a separate call-out.

What affects the price of a land clearing job
We do not publish a per-acre rate, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Two parcels the same size can be a full day apart in work. These are the things that actually move the number.
Density. The biggest factor by a distance. Open grass with scattered saplings and solid palmetto with mature trees through it are completely different jobs on identical acreage. Density is also the one thing that cannot be judged from an aerial photograph, which is why we walk the parcel.
Size. Acreage matters, but not in a straight line. A larger parcel usually costs less per acre than a small one, because getting the machine there costs the same either way. On small lots that travel is a meaningful share of the job.
Access. How equipment gets on and around the ground. Tight lots between houses, soft or low ground, culvert crossings and overhead lines all slow the work, and slower work costs more.
Obstructions. Fences, wells, septic fields, irrigation, buried utilities and trees that have to stay. Working around things carefully is slower than working through open ground, and knowing what is there before we start is part of why the site visit matters.
What happens to the material. Mulching in place has no disposal cost and no truck movements. Hauling off means loading, trucking and tipping. On open acreage mulching is almost always cheaper; on a lot where a lawn is going in, hauling off is usually what you actually want.
Stumps. Mulched below grade with the majority of the stump left in the ground, ground out deeper, or removed entirely with the root ball. Three different amounts of work.
Permits and surveys. Where tree permits, arborist inspections or a gopher tortoise survey apply, that is real time and real cost, and it is in the number we give you.
One last thing worth knowing. If you have more than one parcel, or a neighbour wanting the same work, clearing them in the same trip is markedly cheaper than clearing them a month apart. It is always worth asking.
